Till There was you by Wade and Lilliana Anderson

till there was you release banner

⚜It's finally here! The release day for TILL THERE WAS YOU by Wade & Lilliana Anderson⚜

⚜BLURB⚜
Haunted by his past, Lincoln Ryan abandoned his life in Australia, retreating halfway around the world to the town of Newsham, a place as remote and cold as his heart had become. It suited him perfectly—for a while. When a fateful event forces him to help out local bar owner, Lily Colbert, Linc finds his life of solitude is suddenly flooded with the light and hope of one very stubborn woman. Slowly his walls begin to crumble as he lets the enigmatic Lily in. But when Linc and Lily dance perilously close to the ‘L’ word, his secrets re-emerge, rocking him to the core as he tries once again to outrun his past. However, the thing about the past is that it always seems to follow you around, and for Linc, hiding may not be an option anymore. Not when he has Lily. Not when he might finally have a future….

My review
This was a touching love story. Tortured by his past, Linc is hiding out in a cabin with his dog and only friend. But one night changes everything as he saves Lily the local bar owner from some rowdy drunks. She becomes determined to break through his walls, but he may be too damaged to open up to her.
This was a good read. It was a nice break from my usual paranormal/sci-fi read. The characters were sweet and the story was interesting. I enjoyed my time away from the usual with this one.
I give Till there was you 4 stars!
*I was given a free copy of this ebook for an honest review.

A Taste of Death an Honey by Sharon Bayliss

It's here! A Taste of Death and Honey by Sharon Bayliss is live. If you're a fan of magic, urban fantasy, witches, wizards and some creepy characters then look no further. I loved the first two books in this series and I've been waiting for this one. So here it is.

Title: A Taste of Death and Honey
Author: Sharon Bayliss
Series: The December People Series
Genre: Adult Contemporary Fantasy

Blurb:
When Samantha’s parents died, she lost everything. Her home. Her friends. Her hope. Then a life-loving spring witch at the children’s shelter fills her life with light and joy once again.
But like the springtime, Samantha’s happiness doesn’t last forever. Her friend dies violently in front of her, the victim of a mysterious killing spell. Furious and grief-stricken, Samantha resents her own weak spring magic. She doesn’t need life and renewal. She wants revenge…and death.
Homeless and alone, Samantha seeks shelter with her old friends, the Vandergraff family, and finds an unexpected ally in the powerful winter solstice witch, Evangeline. The girls’ anger and eagerness lead them to cast a killing spell before knowing the truth behind Samantha’s friend’s death or the identity of her killer.
Once the spell is cast, they can’t take it back, and they must fight to stop their own curse before it takes away everyone they love.

Here's an exclusive excerpt you won't find anywhere else!
Imogene stood in the parking lot and smiled as if they had arranged to meet there. And she might as well have stood in the middle of a battlefield. A tree branch had already smashed one of the cars in the lot and an increasing tide of water tugged at the wheels. Once the wind picked back up, anything could hit her. Broken glass. The metal sheeting that had come off the roof. Another tree branch. Hell, maybe the cars would rush toward her as the water rose.
But she didn’t seem concerned. She continued to smile at the sight of him. The rain on her skin and hair glimmered even through several miles of clouds blocked the sun. She looked nothing like a little girl anymore. She had a power and confidence about her, he couldn’t understand. Like before, he assumed he imagined her there. A real flesh and blood girl couldn’t have stood against that storm. Even though he might have hallucinated her, he clutched the side of the building and reached out a hand to her.
“Come inside,” he said. “Hurry. It’s not safe.”
She waded in the flood water toward him. She reached her hand toward him, but stopped several feet away so he would have to leave the wall to reach her. She meant to rescue him, and not the other way around.
“It’s okay,” she said. “We’re safe.”
“We have to get inside. This must be the eye of the storm or something. It will start again.” Now he had made it outside, his powerful urge to get outside had faded and he felt exposed and vulnerable. He couldn’t remember why he had felt so desperate to get out here in the first place.
“I told you I would come back for you. Here I am. And here you are. Outside of these walls. You can come with me now.”
“But the storm… we won’t get far.”
“I hate to use Mother Nature in such a violent way, but it had to be done. No one will be hurt, just some wind and water damage.”
“Are you saying you caused the storm?” He raised his voice as if speaking over the howling winds, even though the air had become still. “You’re insane,” he said, in a tone more sad than cruel. “You’re going to get hurt. Please just come inside with me, before the wind starts again.”
“Most of the time, nature is beautiful, nurturing, and incredibly patient, but she can also muster a power and fury than could tear down Hell itself. Nature only allows humanity because of her kindness, she has the power to obliterate all mankind creates.” She held up her hands in demonstration.
Her wild mess of hair fluttered again in the wind. The storm would come back at any moment. “Please,” Zander said. “I don’t want you to get hurt. I don’t want to lose you.”
“We won’t get hurt Zander. I already walked through the storm to get to you. We can walk back out.”
Zander left the safety of his wall and walked over to Imogene to grab her hand. Instead, she wrapped both her arms around him. He didn’t see any option that seemed good. He could leave with her and they would probably drown or he could take her back inside, hold her for the few minutes that the storm raged on, and then they’d take her away again.
“Please trust me,” she said. “I’m not just any witch, I’m a very special witch. And you’re a special wizard. We’re so full of life death has to work very hard to take us. A little wind and rain can’t hurt us.”
He nuzzled his face in the softness of her hair. She smelled like the storm. Of dust and water and electricity. The blackness in the sky had grown darker and made the day look like night. The trees on the edge of the parking lot cracked and moaned.

Review - The Halfling by H.D. Gordon

Book Blurb:
HALF HUMAN, HALF FAE, TOTAL BADASS.

What do you get when you take a highly trained Halfling teenager and throw her into the concrete jungle of Grant City?

One badass vigilante, of course!

17-year-old Aria Fae is no stranger to danger. She’s super fast, incredibly strong, and on her own for the first time ever.

Throw in a brand new best friend who’s a computer genius, a mysterious and super-fly older neighbor, and a drug that’s turning people into maniacs, and you’ve got the potion for trouble.

Will Aria risk everything to keep the streets of Grant City safe, or will the beasts of the jungle make her their next meal?

My Review: This author is a total badass!! The Halfling is an excitement filled ride with laughter, a little love story, some equally super friends and, of course, some darkness. Because what hero doesn't have a bit of darkness in their past? H.D. Gordon has created a world right out of a D.C. comic book. Her city is in desperate need of saving, the hero is reluctant to do so and there are a couple of adorably nerdy sidekicks and friends. If you ask me it's just a recipe for awesomeness! And boy did I devour this story!
If you're a fan of the green arrow, batman, superman, or any other kick ass hero, you just might enjoy this book as much as I did. Can I give a book more than 5 stars? Why not? I give The Halfling 6 stars! Excuse me while I one click and gobble up book two....
