David J Cooper author of the Penny Lane Paranormal Investigator - Ouija Board Mystery
I found a new to me author recently and was delighted when he wanted an interview with my book blog! I love getting to know new authors! I read The first book in the Penny Lane Paranormal Investigator series and enjoyed it. Here is a little about this author and the Penny Lane series. After you read this, go check out Penny Lane Paranormal Investigator!
I recently read your book titled
Penny Lane Paranormal Investigator about a group of teens that use a
Ouija board to contract their deceased friend and unknowingly draw
out an evil spirit.
I read that you had your own paranormal
experience that inspired you to write this story. Can you tell us
about that experience?
Yes. I was living in Brixham, Devon in a 16th century building that had been converted into apartments. One morning I woke up and the apparition of what looked like a female dressed all in black floated out of my closet and vanished through a wall on the opposite side of the room. The landlord later told me that legend had it that the place was haunted by a female servant. This story has been included in the book. |

If you weren't a writer, what would
you be doing?
Probably a paranormal investigator!! |
What is your favorite genre to read?
I like to read about the paranormal, true crime, fantasy, suspense. |
What are you reading now?
A book by Arthur Weismann called Evolution. |
If someone is brand new to your
books, which one should they read first?
If they like the paranormal then they need to read The Ouija Board MYstery first. If they are into true crime I highly recommend my book The Devil Knows about the perverse relationship between Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, the Moors murderers of 1960's Britain. It's a very disturbing book. |
What ideas might inspire your future
writings?
Once I've finished the Penny Lane series, I will be writing a book about the Cannock Chase murders as I lived in the area at the time of the murders and personally knew the killers second wife. However, I will continue with other paranormal themed books as I have lots of ideas about that genre. |
Are any of your characters based on
people from your life?
Yes. Most of the characters in the Penny Lane series are based on real people from my life. |
What is the hardest scene you have
had to write?
The hardest scene I've had to write at the moment is a scene in the fifth book in the series where Penny discovers the truth about the local priest. |
If you could give your younger self
any piece of advice, what would it be?
Start writing books!! |
